The Health Ministry has ordered a factory here to recall its crispy flour products, which were packed in ceiling plaster wrapper, from the market.

Director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the ministry’s investigation found the factory had mistakenly used ceiling plaster wrapper to pack the crispy flour.

“The ministry takes note of the allegation, which went viral on social media, that a premises in Puchong, Selangor, have been selling banana fritters prepared using flour that was mixed with ceiling plaster to make the food crispy.

“In this regard, the ministry, through the Food Safety  and Quality Division, has conducted an inspection on the premises selling the fried banana and found that the crispy flour factory had made a mistake by using ceiling plaster wrapper to pack the product.”
